Long weekends are great - the Tuesday after...not so much. It was definitely tough pulling myself out of bed this morning and I'm sure a lot of you will agree!
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves with the beautiful weather and honoring all of our troops this weekend, both past and present. If you haven't already thanked a vet, you should probably put that on your to-do list for this morning!
Unfortunately, the beautiful weather doesn't look like it's going to be sticking around for the start of your work week. Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that we can look for scattered storms to move in this morning with the possibility of heavy downpours. None of this weather is expected to be severe but some of these storms could be on the strong side. You can check out Katy and Frank for your complete seven-day forecast all morning long.
Today could be a slow go for Ohio drivers as the third of four oversize load transports will be making its way north today from Southside Avenue in Sedamsville to Yankee Road in Middletown. Speeds are only projected to reach 5 mph so if this is part of your daily commute, I suggest you leave super early or find an alternative route. The major roadways that could see an impact are US 50, Hwy 128, US 27 and Route 4.
For all of your current traffic conditions, be sure to tune-in between 4:30-9 AM for Stephanie Woods' Traffic Tracker reports.
An accidental fall and ibuprofen is what one local babysitter is blaming to be the cause of a Covington toddler's death. Marquita Burch appeared before a Hamilton County Judge yesterday on charges of tampering with evidence and abuse of a corpse after police found the body of one-year-old William Cunningham in the hallway closet of a Cincinnati apartment. Burch originally told police that the child went missing from a local park, but then changed her story and redirected them to the apartment where his body was found. FOX19 is keeping a close eye on this heartbreaking story and you can hear more details coming up at 5 AM.
It's been a year since Bill and Peggy Stephenson were murdered inside of their Florence home and no arrests have been made. Charles "Stevie" Stephenson, the couple's nephew, is considered a person of interest but has not been tried in this case. Dan Wells will be live starting at 4:30 AM with more on this story.
How about this for a Memorial Day story: a recently laid off Veteran in Decatur, Indiana had an extra reason to celebrate this weekend after he cashed in a winning lottery ticket! Tom Fisher matched four digits in Friday's Mega Millions drawing as well as the Mega Ball and landed himself ten grand! You can hear more on this lotto-winning Vet at 7 AM!
