Two local women design the World Choir Games medals

KENWOOD, OH (FOX19) -

Two local women teamed up to design the medals for the 2012 World Choir Games.

Lynn Thompson and Gertrude Stefanko submitted the winning design which will be presented to the winning choirs at the World Choir Games this summer.

Thompson is the owner of Thompson Gifts and Awards in Kenwood. Stefanko who is a freelance graphic designer and works the store created the medals main design elements.

"We create medals and awards every week for our clients, and we wanted to submit our designs to the World Choir Games. We were so thrilled to secure the winning bid, and excited for the opportunity to serve a worldwide audience," said Thompson.

Thompson Gifts and Awards will offer replica medals for sale in gold, silver and bronze.

"We are excited to represent Cincinnati through these medals at the World Choir Games," said Thompson. "It's a great time for the city and for Thompson Gifts and Awards.

The World Choir Games come to Cincinnati July 4 through July 14.
