Bike Friendly Destination Program awards 60 programs for advocacy
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The Bike Friendly Destinations Awards Program honored local businesses, organizations and institutions on Tuesday.
The program honored 60 programs for providing advocacy and infrastructure improvements to support bicycling for employees and visitors.
"The Bike Friendly Destination Program is growing stronger each year as we continue to make Greater Cincinnati a more bike-friendly community," said Nern Ostendorf, executive director of Queen City Bike. "There are many benefits from using bicycle transportation and this program helps us to spread that message."
Queen City Bike developed the program to encourage people to commute by bicycle. They say riding a bike is good for the economy, improves health and saves money.
