Good Thursday morning!
You've almost made it through another work week and if you're looking to start making some outdoor weekend plans, Meteorologists Katy Morgan and Frank Marzullo can help!
This morning, Katy is saying that we can look for a cool start to your day with plenty of sunshine later on but the clouds might start to roll in for your homebound commute. For a complete seven-day-forecast, be sure to tune-in from 4-10 AM on the FOX19 Morning News!
Reds superstar Aroldis Chapman can't seem to catch a break this week! First he was arrested for doing 93 in Grove City on a suspended license, now his girlfriend was found tied up and robbed in a Pittsburgh hotel Tuesday night. Thankfully, she wasn't harmed. Tracey Johnson and Rob Williams will have more on this story at 5 AM.
When you think of a school bus driver, you probably don't think of a heroine dealer. Unfortunately that's the case for Shyly Harrison, a Cincinnati Public Schools bus driver who was caught dealing heroine out of Walton, KY. Harrison and four others were arrested after a search warrant was executed on Kuchle Drive and Old Stephenson Mill Road - both homes being near the Walton-Verona HS. Be sure to tune-in at 5:30 AM for more on this story.
The search for a missing 7-year-old in Dearborn County continues this morning. Dispatchers say that Collin Schroeder went missing around 7 PM last night. Dan Wells will be live in Logan Township this morning with more. If you have any information on Collin's whereabouts, please call the Dearborn County or Hamilton County Sheriffs Dept's.
If you consider yourself to be a spelling whiz, you might have met your match! Manu Nair of Union and Mira O'Donnell of Cincinnati both made it to the third round of the Scripps National Spelling Bee! Nair's final word was metier and O'Donnell's was scuppernong (a type of grape-I looked it up!). Neither one of our spelling gurus made it to the semi-finals, but they've definitely made the tri-state proud!
The FOX19 St. Jude Dream Home giveaway is quickly approaching, but we still have tickets to sell! Starting at 5 AM, Frank Marzullo will be live at the station hosting a telethon to get those tickets sold! We will also be checking in with Brad Underwood all morning while he's in Miami Bluffs hanging out at the dream home valued at $400,000!
I encourage you to please, please, PLEASE call in and purchase a ticket! They're going for $100 a piece and 100% of the proceeds will be given directly to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis. A beautiful home for a beautiful cause - somebody has to win! :)
This wraps up your Thursday morning headlines and I look forward to talking with you on our Twitter and Facebook pages!
