Dog killed in Florence house fire

Several fire departments from Boone and Kenton Counties responded to a house fire in Florence Friday evening.

The fire started at around 6:45 pm on the 6500 block of Louise Court. Fire departments from Florence, Erlanger, Elsmere and Point Pleasant responded to the scene.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but a dog in the house died.

Fire crews have not released a cause of the fire. The damage is said to be extensive.
