A homeless Cleveland student has been accepted to Harvard University.

David Boone is a homeless student in Cleveland's Metropolitan School District (CMSD) and has been living with different friends, sleeping on couches and park benches.

Saturday, June 2, Boone graduated from CMSD's MC2 STEM High School, and will attend Harvard University for the 2012-2013 school year.

Boone was accepted to every "Ivy League" institution and selected Harvard for his higher education. He then applied for 23 scholarships and received 22 of them. His acceptance to Harvard is proof that hard work and dedication can change anyone's path in life.

Boone graduated with the second highest grade point average in his class, and is the first graduate in his family.

CMSD's MC2 STEM High School focuses on science, technology, engineering and math, and is a project-based learning environment that exposes students to the kinds of design and implementation practices scientists and engineers use.  The high school is located within Cleveland's Great Lakes Science Center.
