COLUMBIA TOWNSHIP, OH (WOIO) -

The sole survivor of a horrific car accident that killed four teens has been released from Southwest Hospital.

Julia Romito,17, was riding with 18-year-old Kevin Fox, 18-year-old Jeffrey Chaya, 17-year-old Blake Bartchak and 17-year-old Lexi Poerner when Chaya's Chevrolet Cavalier went airborne over train tracks. Fox, Chaya, Bartchak and Poerner all died from injuries.

According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, the group of teens was driving along Boston Road just east of Boone in Columbia Township when the driver, Jeffrey Chaya, crossed railroad tracks at a high rate of speed and lost control of his airborne Chevrolet Cavalier upon landing.

The vehicle flipped and struck several objects before coming to a stop.

The teens were all from Brunswick, and were students at Brunswick High School. Kevin Fox and Jeffrey Chaya were seniors, and were set to graduate Sunday, June 3, during ceremonies at University of Akron. 19 Action News is told that during the ceremony, the names of Kevin Fox and Jeffrey Chaya were read along with the other graduating seniors.

The crash remains under investigation. It's unknown if alcohol or drugs were a factor. Unsafe speed did play a role in the crash.

Calling hours were held Wednesday, June 6 for Jeffrey Chaya and Blake Bartchak.

A wake is scheduled Thursday and Friday for Lexi Poerner and Kevin Fox.
