PEEBLES, OH (FOX19) -

The wife of an Adams County dentist is charged with felonious assault after police say she shot her husband multiple times.

It happened Sunday night just after 10 p.m. on Shaker Run Road, in the parking lot of Franklin Dental Care.

Police say the shooting began in the couple's car while they were parked in the dentist office lot. Witnesses say Franklin fled the vehicle and his wife shot him several times with a shotgun.

While on the scene, deputies observed a vehicle matching the description of the suspect vehicle drive by. The vehicle was again located on S.R. 32 near Lawshe Road by a Seaman Police Officer. The vehicle was later stopped and the suspect, Pamela Franklin, 41, was taken into custody without incident. She is being held at the Adams County Jail on a felonious assault charge.

James Franklin was taken to Adams County Regional Medical Center with multiple gunshot wounds. He was later flown to University Hospital, where he is in stable condition.
