Former CODE president scheduled for sentencing

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

A former president of the Cincinnati Organized and Dedicated Employees (CODE) union is scheduled for sentencing at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Diana Frey pled guilty to embezzlement last September. Prosecutors say she stole $758,000 from CODE bank accounts.

Newly released documents show Frey spent the money on travel, drinking and pampering her pets. The money came from three separate accounts which Frey, as president, had ready access to.

Prosecutors are asking that Frey be sentenced to 51 months in prison with three years of supervised release. They also want Frey to pay back the money taken from the union.

CODE was started by Frey in 2005. It's a labor union for about 800 city employees in Cincinnati.

She was president from 2005 until 2011.
