A Night of Miracles and Magic hopes to make cancer disappear
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
People came together for A Night of Miracles and Magic on Wednesday night.
Dr. William Barrett of the Barrett Cancer Center spoke to the crowd about the impact battling a life-threatening illness has on the children at the event to benefit A Kid Again. The nonprofit organization helps provide fun adventures for kids with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
"Fortunately we can cure many people of cancer these days through various measures however treating a young child who cannot understand why or what is happening to him is never easy. It is critical for us to help people at such an important time in their lives and we are blessed to have a multidisciplinary team available to evaluate each case," said Dr. Barrett.
The event included magicians, a live band and a silent auction. A Night of Miracles and Magic is a kickoff to a magic show which will be at Princeton High School on June 16. Dr. Barrett has agreed to be sawed in half by two patients as a magic trick at the show.
