As the city prepares for a summer of singing, and singing visitors, a new spot offering a variety of Cincinnati foods will soon open.
The City of Cincinnati MarketGarden is scheduled to debut July 4th, just in time for the 2012 World Choir Games.
City officials say the eclectic bistro will feature different Cincinnati fares, fresh produce, souvenirs, cold beverages, an outdoor seating and performance area, as well as a beer and wine garden. They hope the new MarketGarden will provide people with a place to relax and mingle with visitors from around the world, and also enable local restaurants to showcase Cincinnati foods.
Several food trucks and restaurants will have a spot in the MarketGarden, including Queen City Cookies, Café de Wheels, Vinnie's Gourmet Pretzels, Keystone Bar & Grill, Eddie's BBQ, LaRosa's and more.
The new MarketGarden will be located at 131 W. Sixth Street, between Duke Energy Center and Fountain Square.
It will be open for the duration of the World Choir Games, from July 4th - July 14th, 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.
Officials say the cost to put up the market will be funded through vendor fees.
