Book Chronicles Roger Bacon's Win over Lebron James

Cincinnati, OH (FOX19) - In March 2002 the basketball team at Roger Bacon High School pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Ohio high school sports history.  The Spartans won the Division II state title with a win over Akron St Vincent / St Mary's and star junior Lebron James.

The story of that team and that season are the subject of the book, The Chosen Ones - The Team That Beat Lebron.  The book was written by Cincinnati native Tony Meale.

A little more than a month after Sports Illustrated dubbed James "The Chosen One" the Spartans became the only Ohio high school team to beat James' team.  Coached by the late Bill Brewer, Roger Bacon endured a 32 point game from James to win the school's first state title in 20 years.

The book is available at THECHOSENONESTHEBOOK.COM.
