CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -

The "Memphis Belle", a restored WWII B-17 "flying fortress" bomber and a Rare Curtiss P-40 Warhawk will take to the skies over the tri-state.

Organizers of the flights say their mission is to educate people about the courage of WWII veterans, and remember those brave aircrew who never made it home.

The Liberty Foundations 2012 Salute to Veterans tour will be arriving at the Lunken Field Airport on Monday June 18th.  On display will be the famous Boeing B-17 "Memphis Belle" and the rare Curtiss P-40E "Warhawk" fighter aircraft.

The aircraft will be open to the public and available for flights on June 23rd and 24th.
