LEBANON, OH (FOX19) -
A prison escapee from Columbus, Ohio is behind bars after a chase in Warren County.
Richard James Greene, 30, was stopped by Warren County Deputy Brent Whaley on Interstate 71 early Tuesday morning. Greene abruptly pulled away when he was requested to step out of the vehicle.
After a brief pursuit, Greene exited the interstate at SR 73, striking Deputy Whaley's cruiser and then fleeing from the vehicle. He was quickly apprehended by Deputy Whaley.
Whaley was treated for a minor hand injury and released back to duty. Greene was not injured.
Greene was found to be driving a truck that was stolen from Mason, Ohio. He is also a suspect for several theft offenses in the area near Kings Island. He is charged with receiving stolen property, resisting arrest and traffic offense in addition to the escape charge in Franklin County. He is being held at the Warren County Jail.
