UC honors top alumni

CORRYVILLE, OH (FOX19) - Five former UC Bearcats were honored on Thursday evening.

The University of Cincinnati Alumni Association hosted the 2012 UC Distinguished Alumni Celebration, recognizing five people for their professional achievements and community-driven contributions.

The honorees include Thomas H. Humes, Jr., receiving the William Howard Taft Medal for Notable Achievement. Humes has developed many well-known communities in Cincinnati serving as President of Great Traditions Land & Development Company.

Thomas Horowitz, with FRCH Design Worldwide, received the Alumni Distinguished Service Award, connecting the College of DAAP with FRCH.

Winning the Mosaic Award, Willie F. Carden, Jr serves as Director of Parks for the City of Cincinnati and Executive Director of the Cincinnati Parks Foundation.

Joe Judge, the Managing Director of Tenant Representation for Jones Lang LaSalle, Inc., won the Jeffrey Hurwitz Young Alumni Outstanding Achievement award, given to a UC grad, 35 years or younger. Andrea Zahumensky, Associate Marketing Director, Global Oral Care Expansion, also received the award.

The winners were recognized among other university leaders in a ceremony at the Kingsgate Marriott Conference Hotel at UC's main campus.
