Fire at Carew Tower causes $60,000 worth of damage

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - The Carew Tower was evacuated for a two-alarm fire on Sunday night.

Crews were called to the scene just after 7 p.m. after receiving several calls about smoke coming from the tower. Companies determined the smoke was coming from the exhaust system on the sixth floor roof from Boi Na Braza's cooking range vent system. Crews extinguished the fire within about 20 minutes. The fire was contained to the ventilation system.

Damage is estimated at about $60,000 dollars. There were no reports of injuries to the 64 firefighters or any civilians.
