Men accused of stealing $10,000 in jewelry, leading police on chase

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -

Two men have been arrested after police say the suspects stole thousands of dollars worth of jewelry then led police on a chase on Sunday.

Colerain Police were called to Voss Jewelers on Colerain Avenue for suspicious persons. The officer followed Grover White and Trevor Holloway out of the store and into the parking lot. White and Holloway fled in their vehicle traveling at high speeds and driving across lanes. The officer attempted to stop their vehicle for reckless operation, but they didn't stop.

The suspects' vehicle spun off the roadway and crashed into a fire hydrant in the 9600 block of Hamilton Ave. after police deployed stop sticks. White and Holloway took off on foot but were taken into custody then taken to the Hamilton County Justice Center.

Authorities say more than $10,000 worth of jewelry was recovered and returned to Voss Jewelers. Grover White is charged with felony theft, felony obstruction of official business, failure to comply, reckless operation and no driver's license. Trevor Holloway is charged with felony theft and felony obstruction of official business.

The crash involving the suspects' vehicle is under investigation by the Springfield Township Police. If you have any information, you're asked to call Crimestoppers at 513-352-3040.
