ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) -
An 18-year-old is in custody for the fatal stabbing of his step-father.
Authorities were called to a home in the 2800 block of Weeping Willow Court just before 5 p.m. on Sunday evening.
Police found Bryan Schmidt Sr., 36, on the kitchen floor suffering from multiple stab wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene. An official autopsy is expected later today.
Schmidt's stepson, Michael Ray, 18, was found in an adjacent room and taken into custody. He is charged with murder and is being held at the Butler County Jail.
Sheriff's Office Investigators did locate and recover a knife, believed to be the murder weapon, inside the residence.
