FAIRFIELD, OH (FOX19) - A Fairfield man who escaped from a courtroom was sentenced on Tuesday.
Christopher Ruffin will spend two years behind bars and pay a $1,000 fine.
Ruffin was in court in March to be sentenced for a probation violation when he assaulted two bailiffs and escaped the court room. While he was escaping another bailiff tased Ruffin.
Police say when Ruffin left the courthouse, he attempted to enter a vehicle that was occupied. That person locked their doors, and he was unable to get in.
Police then say he got into a vehicle that was occupied by a woman and a 2-year-old child. While he was trying to convince the driver to take him out of the city, police arrived, and Ruffin ran away on foot. He was apprehended a short time later.
