Fire ignites in apartment building across from fire station

HAMILTON, OH (FOX19) - Crews were called to a fire on Hurm St. in Hamilton on Tuesday afternoon.

The fire ignited in an apartment building directly across the street from Station 22, Hamilton Fire Headquarters.

A city of Hamilton utility worker called authorities after hearing an apartment window blow out and seeing smoke and flames coming from the window. Firefighters responded and quickly knocked down the fire.

No one was in the apartment when crews arrived and no injuries were reported. The fire caused about $20,000 worth of damage to the apartment and its contents.
