Two teens arrested in Great Miami River after bait shop robbery

MADISON TOWNSHIP, OH (FOX19) - Two teenagers are in custody after an armed robbery in Madison Township Thursday afternoon.

Authorities responded to a reported robbery at the Go Fish Bait and Tackle Shop on Trenton-Franklin Road.

According to police, a black male robbed the shop with a handgun and fled with a white male into a nearby wooded area.

Butler County Sheriffs, with Middletown Police and the Hamilton County aviation unit, were able to close in on the suspects just as they jumped into the Great Miami River.

The two males were taken to the Middletown Police Department for questioning, and await formal charges.

Police are still investigating the incident.
