SWAT standoff ends with man taking his own life

A SWAT standoff in Norwood ends with a man taking his own life on Saturday.

Police say Justin Turner, 30, confronted local bank representatives when they entered the home on Baker Circle around 9:40 a.m. Turner pointed a shotgun at them before they left the home and called police.

Police arrived on scene and found Turner had barricaded himself in the home and was pointing the gun at his own head. The officers backed off and notified the Hamilton County SWAT team.

SWAT members tried to negotiate with Turner to come out peacefully then used tear gas, OC gas and diversionary devices.

When SWAT members decided to enter the home, they found Turner had taken his own life. Norwood Police are investigating.
