NEW INFO: Fmr. Dixie QB leaves Auburn campus after public intox charge

AUBURN, AL (WTVM/WXIX) -

Auburn freshman quarterback and Edgewood, KY native Zeke Pike has left campus following his arrest last Saturday night on public intoxication.

WTVM reports that Pike will miss weeks of informal summer workouts after returning home.

The 19-year old Pike was an early enrollee at Auburn, taking part in spring practice and in the A-Day scrimmage, where he was 7-of-9 passing for 92 yards.

He was considered one of the nation's top prep quarterbacks last season.

As a senior at Dixie Heights High School in Edgewood, KY, Pike was 156-of-267 passing for 1,964 yards and 13 touchdowns. He also ran for 728 yards and 16 more scores.

He was suspended for his final game in high school for breaking unspecified team rules.

Zeke Pike is the son of Mark Pike, a former NFL player.

He was released on $300 bond following his arrest.
