A rendering of Morgan's sculpture
CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) -
The rendering of Joe Morgan's proposed sculpture was revealed on FOX19 Morning News on Wednesday.
The statue project was announced on Sunday night at the Reds Hall of Fame Induction Gala.
Artist Tom Tsuchiya is working on the bronze statue of Mr. Morgan. The exact location of the statue has not been announced.
The sculpture will capture Mr. Morgan stealing a base.
Just like they did for Johnny Bench's sculpture, the Reds Hall of Fame & Museum will start a fundraising campaign that will offer Reds fans multiple levels of giving to support the statue.
Mr. Morgan's statue is the second of four statues planned for around GABP.
In addition to the Bench statue, Tsuchiya created the four bronze sculpture of Joe Nuxall, Frank Robinson, Ernie Lombardi and Ted Kluszewski on Crosley Terrace in 2004.
The sculpture is expected to be completed and unveiled in the summer of 2013.
