Benefit held for children of murdered Northern Kentucky woman

CRESCENT SPRINGS, KY (FOX19) -

A benefit to honor a woman killed on the job in Florence was held at Buffalo Wings and Rings in Crescent Springs Wednesday night.

Michelle Mockbee was found dead last month at Thermo Fisher Scientific on Empire Drive. Authorities say she was assaulted.

More than $1,500 was raised through an auction and that money will go into a college fund for Mockbee's two daughters, Carli, 10 and Madelyn, 7.

"They're forced to grow up without their mother now which is very unfortunate, tragic," said Mockbee's sister, Jennifer Schneider. "Not even enough words to describe what they have to go through."

The Boone County Sheriff's Department has not made an arrest in the case.

"It's been almost a month. We're holding up," said Mockbee's brother, Chris Whalen. "We really wish somebody would come forward. Any clues, anything, just come forward."

Anyone with information can call CRIMESTOPPERS at (513) 352-3040.
