HAMILTON, Ohio (AP) - A Butler County teen accused of fatally stabbing his stepfather on Father's Day has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge.
The Butler County prosecutor says 18-year-old Michael Ray entered the plea at a hearing Wednesday in Hamilton.
A Butler County grand jury indicted Ray on the murder charge last week in the stabbing death of 36-year-old Bryan Schmidt. Authorities say Schmidt was stabbed at the family's home in a subdivision north of Hamilton on June 17.
Authorities have not commented on a possible motive.
Ray remains in jail with bond set at $500,000. The judge set a trial date of Oct. 15.
Ray's attorney did not immediately return a call for comment Wednesday.
