Search to resume for girls who fell into river
Authorities resume the search this morning for two young sisters swept away in the rain-swollen Milwaukee River. A six-year-old slipped from a dock yesterday and her 12-year-old sister jumped in to save her. Neither girl knows how to swim.
A city fire official says the river is running fast due to recent heavy rains. Milwaukee's had seven inches of rain this month.
Coast Guard boats and a helicopter have been used in the search, which was halted when darkness fell. Divers also tried to search under water but couldn't due to the swift current. The girls' aunt says the family is trying to stay optimistic.
