GEORGETOWN, OH (FOX19) - A Georgetown, Ohio man was indicted for hurting a 5-month-old baby.
Charles Sweeney, 23, was charged with three counts of endangering children. According to a police report, he shook and spanked the infant, causing a fractured rib and bruising. He also left the baby on the floor to be trampled by a large dog.
He was formally charged by the Brown County Grand Jury, and also faces an additional one count of domestic violence for knowingly causing physical harm to the 5-month-old.
This indictment comes after a previous conviction of three domestic violence charges in the past.
Jessica Little, the Brown County Prosecuting Attorney conveyed, "The victim can't speak, she can only cry. But we will make sure she is heard."
Sweeney was arrested on June 16th and has been in jail since.
He also is facing separate criminal charges after slashing the tires of two Brown County owned vehicles.
