(FOX19) -
Duke Energy workers continued to work through the day Monday to get the lights back on after storms hit the Tri-State over the weekend knocking out power. By Monday evening the number of outages dropped to just over 2,600 in Ohio and Kentucky.
At the peak following Friday's storm there were roughly 230,000 customers without power across the Duke Energy Midwest service area.
Duke officials expected to begin work on individual customer outages Monday evening after fixing all outages affecting multiple residences. They say over 600 additional workers have been brought in from outside the service area to aid in the repairs. Sally Thelen, spokeswoman for Duke Energy, says that brings their crews to more than 900 workers. She says crews will be working throughout the night to restore power to all customers.
Duke Energy customers can call 1(800) 543-5599 to report power outages. Updated information on current outages by county can also be found here.
