MONROE, OH (FOX19) - An electrical issue is to blame for a fire in Monroe on Friday night.
Monroe fire crews were called to the building in the 900 block of Deneen Ave. around 9:45 p.m. They say a transformer was on fire in the back of the building and extended into the building.
Liberty, Middletown, Deerfield, Mason, Franklin and Butler County and Butler County EMA were also dispatched to help. Duke Energy crews were also called to disable power to the transformer giving fire crews the ability to safely operate in the area.
The fire was put out in about an hour. No one was injured. The extent of the damage is still being evaluated. The cause of the fire is said to be an undetermined electrical issue and is likely related to the previous storm.
