A young man's mother gives thanks to the men who saved her son's life on Saturday.
When D.J. was just a year old, his brother threw a match in his crib causing severe burns. D.J. lost his legs and his ability to hear and speak.
21 years later, first responders, workers from Cincinnati Children's Hospital and others came out to celebrate his graduation.
"So this is a special day. A very special day because it's a celebration of his life for all the people. And it's so amazing, it amazes me how many people are coming back to see this young man who they actually thought was not gonna survive," said his mother, Patricia McCollum.
One first responder says seeing D.J. today was a great gift since they usually never find out what happens to many victims.
