What a weekend!

Happy Monday morning!

What a mean joke Mother Nature played on the tri-state over the weekend by knocking out power during the hottest days of the year! As far as the temperature goes, Meteorologist Katy Morgan is saying that they won't be easing up any time soon. Today, we can expect highs to reach the mid to upper 90s with a chance of more thunderstorms developing this afternoon. A heat advisory is also in effect for our viewing area from noon until 8 PM.

You can catch Katy and Frank all morning long starting at 4 AM for your current weather conditions as well as a complete seven-day forecast.

While most of the power has been restored, some folks in Clermont County are still sitting in the dark. As of late last night, Duke Energy is reporting that roughly 6,000 customers are still without power. Dan Wells will be live this morning with more information starting at 4:30 AM.

If you live or work in Highland County, listen up! The Highland County Water Company is advising its customers to boil all water before consuming it. They were one of the large companies that took a hit during the storms and a full restoration at the water pumping facility isn't expected until tomorrow.

While most of us will celebrate the 4th with cookouts and fireworks, things will be much quieter for one Indiana town. The city of Beech Grove is handing out hefty fines and criminal charges to those caught using fireworks this year. Rob Williams and Sheila Gray will have details on the fireworks ban and why it's being put into effect at 6 AM.

It looks like our Cincinnati Reds are going to be well represented in this years All Star game! Joey Votto, Jay Bruce and Aroldis Chapman have all secured their spots on the National League team. The All Star game will take place July 10th in Kansas City and will be aired on yours truly, FOX19.

Continuing with local celebrities, we have Taylor Mill native Ken Strunk in the studio this morning to talk about his upcoming role in Matt Damon's "Promised Land". Tune-in at 8:45 to hear what he has to say about the new film as well as his previous shows including West Wing, NCIS and Boston Legal!

Now that you're all caught up on what's making the news this morning, go grab some coffee and get your work week started off right! You can hear all of these stories and much more on the FOX19 Morning News followed by the Morning Xtra!
