Clermont County farm seeks federal assistance for crop damage

JACKSON TWP, OH (FOX19) - A weekend packed with powerful storms left thousands without power and crippled crops in Clermont County. Hail shredded corn, soybeans, zucchini, tomatoes and several other vegetables and grains at Grant Farm on Bucktown Road in Jackson Township.

"I've never had hail damage on my vegetables like this," said farm owner, Danny Grant. "The damage we got is devastating."

Grant claims to have lost his entire vegetable crop as 75 percent of his corn crop also received damage.

Agents with the Clermont County Farm Service were at Grant Farm Monday to takes notes and photos. They will let Grant know if any federal assistance comes available for farmers who have lost crops.
