Terror Threat: Targets

High-profile summer events provide possible targets

This summer presents a number of high-profile events that could be targets for a terrorist attack, which intelligence reports indicate may be in the works. The list begins with Saturday's dedication of the World War Two memorial in Washington, and includes the G-8 summit next month in Georgia.

Both major political parties are holding conventions this summer -- the Democrats in Boston in July, and the Republicans in August in New York. The FBI and Homeland Security Department also are concerned about so-called soft targets, such as shopping malls.

Officials say terrorists might try to use a chemical, biological or radiological weapon, which could inflict more damage than a conventional bomb.
