Boil Water Advisory lifted at Hidden Valley Lake

The Valley Rural Utility Company in Hidden Valley Lake has lifted a boil advisory that had been in place since Sunday.

There was also a ban on using water outside due to a water main break that drained the water tower. That ban has also been lifted.

The advisory was issued after a water main break.

"There was water all over the road," said Theresa Dold with Valley Rural Utility Company, referring to the break in the main line on Bellemeade Drive. "I'm sure a lot of people lost pressure through the night and as they got up (Sunday morning) and that's when we had phone calls."

"I woke up about 6:30 and there was this bobcat with backhoe on it out front," said Chris Goepper, who's home is across the street from the main break. "The truck and flashing lights... I had no idea what was going on."

Officials with Valley Rural Utility Company say they expect the restrictions to remain in place through Tuesday. Testing will be done Monday and Tuesday to determine if safe to use without boiling.
