A South Dearborn Community Schools board of trustees member and his wife have been arrested for allegedly hosting an underage drinking party.

Terry Luhrsen has been on the school board since 2004.

Police say they were called to the Luhrsen home this weekend to investigate a report of an underage drinking party.

When police arrived, they say there were about 30 cars parked in the yard, along with a beer truck.

Police say about 75 people were standing in the area, holding cups, cans and bottles. Officers reported that most of those people appeared to be very young.

Officers were able to catch 19 of the underage drinkers. The police report states that one of them was the Luhrsen's son.

Terry and Tawnya Luhrsen were at home at the time of the party. They were arrested and charged with furnishing alcohol to minors and neglect of a dependent.

Neglect of a dependent is a Class D felony.

Dave Culbreth of FOX19 News talked with Terry Luhrsen who said that the beer trailer was empty when the party for the kids began. He said he emptied it after the adult party which was held earlier that afternoon. Luhrsen also said all the alcohol that was left over was put in a refridgerator which was secured with a chain and padlock around it. He also said neither he nor his wife provided alcohol to any underage kids and if alcohol was present at the party it was brought to it by someone else.

Sources allege some of the minors involved were current and former students at South Dearborn High School.
