Green Township police are investigating after tires were slashed on at least 20 cars at Lee's Crossing Apartments off West Fork Road in Monfort Heights. The vandals struck during the early morning hours Monday.
"It appears to be random," said Mitch Hill, Green Township Police Sergeant. "There appears to be no rhyme or reason to it that we can tell as of yet."
The victims found it hard to contain their anger.
"I'm very angry, very angry," said Diane Loveless. "I just bought tires last month. Brand new tires for it. So I had to go today and buy another brand new tire."
The vandal(s) sliced the tires through the sidewall making it impossible to repair.
"I know it's going to cost me a hundred and something dollars for one tire there and another hundred and something dollars for my daughter's tire," said Stephanie Baker. "And I don't really have that money to pay for that."
Green Township police say they are confident they'll find those who are responsible.
"They caused a lot of problems for a lot of people and we're going to keep looking for them," said Sgt. Hill.
"Whoever did this you need to man up or woman up," said Baker. "Come forward and pay for all these vehicles and ask God to forgive you and these people because there's a lot of people angry around here."
