Police: Trio of teens could be responsible for 85 burglaries

COLERAIN, OH (FOX19) -

Colerain Police have arrested three teenagers who they believe are involved in as many as 85 residential burglaries in the area.

The Colerain Police Department Special Investigative Unit (SIU) has been conducting a long-term investigation of numerous burglaries throughout Colerain Township. SIU detectives identified three suspects and began surveillance of the individuals. On Wednesday, July 11, 2012 all three suspects were arrested as they were leaving the scene of an attempted burglary on Snowflake Lane in Colerain Township.

The teens are 15, 16 and 17 years old. A relative of one of the suspects, Andrew Knight, 23, of Colerain Township, was also arrested for obstruction and disorderly conduct.

According to police, detectives are continuing their investigation and have closed 30 open burglaries and are confident that the trio was responsible for up to 85.

SIU detectives continue to investigate and search for stolen property.

The suspects were transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center and the Hamilton County Juvenile Detention Center.
