Queen City Sausage Festival adds “UnPlugged” music

NEWPORT, KY (FOX19) - The 2012 Queen City Sausage Festival kicks off Friday, where attendees will find brats, smoked kielbasa, metts, bierwursts, goetta and this year, local musicians "unplugged".

Queen City UnPlugged is an added addition to the festival, and presents local acts with the opportunity to perform live acoustic sets in front of the sausage enthusiasts.

Musicians have the chance to win up to $1000, and a choice of acoustic and electric guitars, in a music battle. For $1 per vote, attendees can pick their favorite acts and the winners will be announced on Saturday.

The Festival runs from July 13th to 15th, located at Newport's Riverfront Levee.

Over 27 different Queen City sausages can be devoured, such as Super Brats, Endless Smoked Kielbasa, Munich Hot Mett, Italian Sausage Hoagie and more.

Musicians must include original music as part of their set.  Those interested in performing should contact tombodnermusic@gmail.com for more information.
