Reds Open Second Half with Win

Posted: Updated:

The Reds started the second half of the season they way they ended the first half, winning.

The Reds used a critical St. Louis throwing error in the 7th to rally to a 4th straight win, 5-3 over the Cardinals on Friday night.

Craig fielded Ryan Hanigan's slow grounder with the bases loaded and threw wildly to first base, allowing two runs to score for a 3-2 lead off Adam Wainwright.

Todd Frazier had a solo homer off Wainwright, who allowed only two hits over the first six innings before letting it slip away.

The game drew 40,217 fans, Cincinnati's seventh sellout of the season.
