Romney supporters gather around the Tri-State

CINCINNATI, OH (FOX19) - With President Obama in town on Monday, Republicans had to have some kind of counter-attack because they couldn't let Obama get all the publicity. Two events were arranged very quickly. The Chairman of the Hamilton County Republican Party, Alex Triantafilou, hosted a Shame on your Barack Obama Rally on Fountain Square.

When Triantafilou said to the crowd, "You know the President of the United States is here in Cincinnati today?" The crowd yelled, "Boo!"

The other counter-attack was from Senator Rob Portman who was in Lebanon. He reminded Romney supporters of how bad he thinks Obama has done with the economy. "So the president says the private sector's doing fine. You believe that?" he asked. The crowd roared, "No!" Then Portman asked, "Folks, do you agree with me that we cannot afford four more years of Barack Obama?" The crowd shouted, "Yes!"

The main question, of course, is whether Romney will choose him as the vice presidential candidate? "I am supporting him very strongly as you know, I'm chairing the effort here in Ohio. I feel strongly that we need a change and I'm doing everything I can to help him and I plan to do it as a United States Senator." When asked if he knows if Romney's made a decision Portman said, "I have no idea. I also have to add that people vote for the presidential candidate not the VP."
