Zumbathon raises money for local CF patient

BLUE ASH, OH (FOX19) - A Zumbathon was held on Saturday to raise money for a local cystic fibrosis patient.

Alicia Lang, 20, of West Chester, was diagnosed with CF when she was 5 years old. Doctors say a double-lung transplant is needed for her survival. The cost of the transplant is nearly $800,000 and post-transplant medications are very costly.

"It breaks my heart to see someone so young and vibrant battling such a debilitating illness," said Claire Prince, NFT fundraising consultant. "I hate that Alicia's family has the added stress of mounting medical bills. At VFT, we're dedicated to helping them fundraise so they can concentrate on Alicia's health, not the expenses.

The Zumbathon held at Dare to Dance in Blue Ash cost a $15 donation for participants.
