The Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal injury traffic crash that happened on Sunday morning and involved a church bus.
The crash involving three vehicles occurred in the 10000 block of SR 28 in front of the Blanchester Church of Nazarene.
Police say all three vehicles were heading westbound on SR28 when the first two vehicles had slowed/stopped to make a left turn into the church parking lot. The third vehicle failed to stop, striking the second vehicle. The second vehicle was pushed in the first car which was push forward to a controlled stop on the right shoulder of SR 28.
The occupants of the first two vehicles were transported by Harlan Township EMS to Bethesda of Lebanon for treatment with non-life threatening injuries. The first vehicle was being operated westbound on SR 28 by Rebecca Fessler, age 42 of Blanchester. Fessler also had one 8 year old female passenger in the vehicle.
The second vehicle was a 1990 church bus being operated by Barb Prater, 45. of Blanchester.
The third vehicle was a pickup pulling a 2000 Bilt trailer with a riding mower. The driver was Ronald Eller, 74. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation at this time. Alcohol is not suspected to be a factor.
