Police: Suspects on the loose following armed robbery

MIDDLETOWN, OH (FOX19) -

Police say an armed robbery happened in Middletown early Sunday morning.

The victim was jumped by two black male suspects who were hiding behind a fence just before 2 a.m. The suspects had their faces covered with shirts when they pointed handguns at the victim and demanded money.

The victim was getting money out of his pockets when one of the suspects hit him in the head with a gun. The victim dropped all of his money when he was hit then ran away while the suspects picked up all of the money.

The suspects fired multiple shots as the victim fled on foot away from the crime scene. Police found several shell casings in the area.

A police dog tracked the suspects but lost the scent in the 1200 block of Parkview. Middletown Police are working on identifying the suspects.

The victim suffered minor injuries from being hit by the gun. Fortunately, no one was hit by any of the bullets.
