A fire ignited in a home in Madisonville on Monday night causing major damage.
The two-alarm fire broke out around 6 p.m. in the 5600 block of Bramble Avenue. Crews say heavy fire on the first floor of the home and began an aggressive interior attack.
A second alarm was called to lessen the risk of potential heat-related injuries to firefighters. The fire was brought under control in about 30 minutes, but crews stayed on the scene for two hours to extinguish the remaining fire.
50 firefighters responded to the fire and no one was injured. One resident was displaced by the fire.
Authorities say the damage is estimated at $50,000 and the cause of the fire is inattentive cooking.
