FLORENCE, KY (FOX19) - The United States Chamber of Commerce's National Chamber Foundation will host "Hiring Our Heroes," a job fair for veterans and military spouses. The goal of the nationwide program is to hire 500,000 veterans and military spouses by the end of 2014.
Since March of 2011, Hiring Our Heroes has hosted 220 hiring fairs in 48 states, Puerto Rico, and the District of Columbia, helping more than 10,000 veterans and military spouses find employment.
The event in Florence will connect veterans with over 40 local employers and dozens of companies from around the state and region. The program also works with a network of 1600 state and local chambers and other partners from the public, private, and non-profit sectors,
This year's campaign has significantly expanded since last year, hosting job fairs in 400 communities.
The job fair will be held at the American Legion Boone Post #4, 8385 U.S. Highway 42, Florence, KY 41042 from 9 a.m. to noon.
