MASON, OH (FOX19) - The Beach waterpark in Mason will reopen in 2013 under new management. The waterpark closed this year because of financial problems but Adventure Holdings Group says they are leasing it beginning next year.
The group owns and operates 17 family entertainment centers across the country and plans on renaming the park "The Beach at Adventure Landing." "We're real excited to invest back into the park and give everyone a viable option of family entertainment affordable family fun in the summertime," said park general manager, Ralph Vilardo, Junior. "When (our customers) see the new improvements and we start announcing some of the new rides and attractions, they'll be able to see our commitment of making the Beach what it was over the last 27 years."
Ohio Attorney General, Mike Dewine filed a lawsuit against the previous owners after hundreds of 2012 season pass holders were left without a park to enjoy. "We are going to honor every single one of those in 2013," said Vilardo
Adventure Holdings plans to invest one million dollars in the park to include four new slides, a new kids area and a new wave pool. "When they see the new improvements and we start announcing some of the new rides and attractions, they'll be able to see our commitment of making the Beach what it was over the last 27 years," said Vilardo.
The company plans to reopen the park on May 18, 2013.
