A jury in California will begin hearing Scott Peterson's side of things today. Peterson has been in jail nearly 14 months, charged with murdering his pregnant wife, Laci, on Christmas Eve 2002. Defense attorney Mark Geragos will try to counter the prosecutor's itemized account of suspicious behavior. Geragos already has suggested an explanation for Laci Peterson's body being found near the spot where her husband says he was fishing the day she disappeared. Geragos says the real killer may have dumped the body there after hearing Peterson say where he'd been. Geragos must also explain why, when he was arrested near the Mexican border, Peterson was carrying more than ten-thousand dollars in cash and his brother's I-D, and had dyed his hair. His newly bought car was full of camping gear.
