Local fallen soldier is honored with a highway dedication

FT. THOMAS, KY (FOX19) -

A local soldier who did while serving overseas was honored in Ft. Thomas on Saturday.

Local officials recognized Private First Class Brandon Pickering and dedicated the highway along KY 445 River Road in his memory. The stretch of road is now known as Private First Class Brandon T. Pickering Memorial Highway.

Pickering died on April 10, 2011 after enemy forces attacked his unit. He was a 2008 graduate of Highland Heights High School.
