Services to be held for 2 women killed in Union Township crash

MT. CARMEL, OH (FOX19) -

Neighbors on Roney Lane in Mt. Carmel are remembering two elderly women were killed during a police chase on SR 32 Sunday evening.

Corean Hutcherson, 78, and Betty Hines, 75, were pronounced dead at the scene after their minivan was struck by two men in a rental truck that police say ran a red light.

"My jaw just dropped. I couldn't believe it," said neighbor Chad Murrell. "They were just real quiet. It seemed like everybody really knew them, talked to them and everything like that."

Friends and family were seen offering their condolences at Hines' home but the family did not want to speak to the media.

Pam Mark, who drove by the accident scene after it happened, had one request.

"To all these people in the Tri-State area, please tonight before you go to bed, remember these people in your prayers that lost their lives because their families are going to need all the help they can get," said Mark.

The driver of the truck, Ronald Godfrey, and his passenger, Jeffery Moore are both being held in the Clermont County Jail. Godfrey is facing two counts of involuntary manslaughter and Moore is charged with receiving stolen property.

Services for Hutcherson will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday morning at Withamsville Church of Christ. Services will be held for Hines at 10 a.m. on Friday morning at Moore Family Funeral Homes in Newtown.
